Hesburgh Libraries Reopening Task Force has diligently prepared library spaces and redesigned in-person services. Please only visit our spaces if you have been issued a green pass for the day on the Return to Campus Advisor Tool. For those who need or prefer remote access to expertise and digital resources, we are always a chat, email, or Zoom consultation away.

Safely Connecting People to Knowledge: Our Shared Responsibility

Creating a safe and healthy environment at the University of Notre Dame for students, faculty, and staff is a shared responsibility that will require each of us to do our part and be accountable to one another for our behavior both on and off campus.

As a condition of returning to campus and the Hesburgh Libraries, community members are required to follow the COVID-19 related health and safety policies and requirements established by the University of Notre Dame. Our shared responsibilities for safety include:

Maintain Physical Distancing

Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people while traveling through library spaces. Do not gather in groups and stay out of fully occupied spaces.

Wear Face
Coverings

All are expected to wear face coverings at all times in Hesburgh Library and all branch library locations. Wear your face covering correctly, positioned carefully over the nose and mouth.

Use Frequent
Hand Hygiene

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

Monitor Your
Health Daily

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms or believe you may have had exposure to someone with COVID-19, please stay home, contact your healthcare provider and follow University guidance.
